Position Description
- To provide direction, execute strategies, and provide expertise for process and product technology optimization and improvements directly affecting productivity of our plants, acceptance of our products in the market place, cost-effectiveness of our overall operation, and overall business result for our 1.6 billion lb/year styrenics polymers business.
Position Requirements - M.S. Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent, Ph.D. preferred.
- Minimum seven years of manufacturing and/or plastics product development and scale-up experience. Preferably significant experience in both.
- Requires strong and varied technical skills to address complex issues ranging from polymer chemistry to plant operation/design to computer systems.
- Must have demonstrated interpersonal skills to develop teamwork with numerous groups at all levels

- Manufacturing Technical Manager
Position Description
- Set direction, provide management, and execute strategies for process and product optimization affecting productivity of the plants, quality of the products, cost-effectiveness of the operation, and the overall business result. Provide daily oversight, support and/or management to operations, optimization and capital engineering efforts to achieve productivity, product quality, safety, ecology, and manufacturing cost standards, along with continued development of all team members and spending control.
Position Responsibilities - Accountable for the site's overall strategy and efforts to optimize process and product improvements to gain productivity, product quality, safety, environmental, manufacturing cost standards, and other beneficial affects to the business result.
- Responsible for providing needed day-to-day direction and support to operations, to achieve production requirements and manufacturing standards.
- Responsible for managing engineering efforts to support achievement of site and manufacturing objectives and standards.
- Responsible for improving variable cost thru raw material yield management & improvement and energy utilization & improvement.
- Accountable to maintain and improve utilization of process computerized automation systems (DSC).
- Manage assigned cost centers to ensure fixed cost budget control.
- Position is the primary back-up for the Site Manager, and will therefore work closely with the manager in many aspects of site management.
- Develop and communicate clear goals and standards and ensure professional and career development for team members.
- Champion new ideas, and inspire for excellence and trust, foster a team environment.
Position Requirements - B.S. Degree in Chemical (preferred) or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Requires 15 years manufacturing related experience, including five years of technical personal management.
- Requires strong and varied technical skills to address complex issues ranging from general plant and unit operation & optimization, energy optimization and computer-control system utilization.
- Requires strong managerial/facilitator skills to manage technologies, assets, staffing quality, and costs.
- Must have demonstrated interpersonal skills to develop teamwork with subordinates and peers.
