• Coating Scientist

Position Description

• The Coating Scientist is responsible for a basic knowledge of all phases of the production operation from mixing through coating and to final packaging and shipping. 
• On each shift, each Coating Scientist will be responsible for one of the following production operations: mixing, coating or warehouse. 
• The specific area of responsibility on each shift will be at the discretion of the person designated as the shift leader.

Position Responsibilities: Coating

• Startup and shutdown of the coating line
• In-process quality checks; coat weight, moisture, thickness, etc.
• Collect samples as required
• Monitor process for quality while running
• Maintain an organized and clean work area
• Package and box finished rolls
• Complete required paperwork for the batch record

Position Responsibilities: Mixing

• Weigh raw materials
• Maintain mixing batch records
• Work with other personnel as needed for double signatures
  Prepare batches of solution in accordance with the instructions on the batch record.
• Clean / sanitize tanks, hoses fittings, etc.
• Move tanks of solution in and out of coating room as needed
• Wash down coating room as required

Position Requirements

• Candidates must be willing to work all shifts.
• Need to be willing to “get hands dirty”.
• Prefer a degree in Chemistry or Engineering.
